Jax's first birthday! We took him to Cones; an artisanal ice cream shoppe. They have thirty or forty handmade ice cream and sorbets with flavors like grapefruit, cantaloupe, Andean black berry, dulce de leche, mate (tea) and almond cream. So delectable! We put a candle in the cone and treated him to a rousing round of Happy Birthday. Kathrine brought a present for him to open there, which he tore into enthusiastically. Jax enjoyed his first sweet treat, although Papa is actually the one who ate it. Jax is too young to notice that old trick: the one where your parent offers to lick your ice cream so it "won't drip." A very fun time had by all....
